Friday, September 25, 2009 marks the last day of work and the start of a new phase in my life. I like to call this chapter, the “Life of Leisure”, since I have the luxury of time to explore infinite possibilities. My immediate goals include moving to Arizona, being a “stay at home mom”, going to the gym everyday, and eventually getting a job at Godaddy. I fixated on Godaddy is because I’ve used them to purchase domains over the years and after I read about the company culture, I decided, I had to work there. 


I know I haven’t exactly described a leisurely existence and perhaps it’s too soon to grasp that concept. In fact, the weekend has been a whirlwind of activity. Friday night I went out for dinner/drinks with my co-workers and their families, I had a great time hanging out them and watching their kids play, so adorable! This was probably the first team I’ve worked with where the families were integrated into our team activities, something to consider for the future.


When I got home I removed work email and calendar from my phone, that also removed my contacts, so I thought how can I manage my contacts and calendar then have it sync to something in the cloud so it’s always backed up. Luckily, Google sync will synchronize my calendar, contacts, and email with my phone, YES!!  This is exactly what I was looking for, I will get the push email and calendar events just like when I was using Outlook. Of course, I immediately added the remainder of the weekend activities into my calendar and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to setup on my Nokia E71 phone.


Saturday, I had breakfast with my sister and got my apartment about 80% packed before getting ready for Cassie’s birthday dinner. I got home exhausted!  


Sunday, I got up early to have breakfast with my friend Angela. Then spent the remainder of the day packing up the kitchen and having friends pick up furniture. Of course, all the times my friends said they were going to come get furniture, I marked in my calendar so I could make sure I didn’t run off to do an errand at the designated time. I don’t know how people functioned before PDA’s and smartphones. Hopefully, the apartment will be 100% packed on Monday and I’ll have time to do laundry.
